Himachal Pradesh is popular all the year round with two important rivers- the Sutlej and Yamuna.

Places to Visit:

Shimla-
is the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Jakhu Hills is a steep climb and has a famous "Hanuman temple".

There are a number of short excursions one can take from Shimla. Annandale, the Glen and Chadwick Falls are picturesque sights. Kufri and Narkanda are well-known winter Ski resorts.

Tattapani-
has hot sulphur springs.

Naldhera has a beautiful golf course.

Kasauli-
is a quiet hill station with long walks and treks and well worth spending time.
Chail-
is a very small hill-station developed by the royal family of Patiala. It is like a leaf out of a picture-book with a green foliage full of flowers. Chail's cricket pitch is one of the highest in the world.

Kullu Valley-
Halpur Maidan is one expanse of grassy land and the famous 'Kulu Dussehra' is held here.

The Bijli Mahadev Temple has a 'Shivalingam' which is shattered every year by a bolt of lightning.

 

Manikarna-
has hot sulphur springs. Largi, Raison, katrain and Roerich Gallery are worth visiting.

 

Manali-
lies across the river Beas. The Hidimba Temple is a pagoda-shaped temple worth visiting :-Other places worth visiting here are Arjun cave and Hot springs at Vashisht village.

 

Rohtang Pass-
leads into Lahaul valley with, Sonapani Glacier.

 

Mandi-
With the Sundernagar valley, Rewalsar Lake and karsog ave- worth visiting.

 

Lahaul & Spiti-
has one of the harshest climates in the world. It has the highest peak of H.P., Gya ,which has not been climbed. Pin Valley National Park is the home to snow leopared and the ibex.

Lahaul is ringed by the Zanskar, Himalayas and the Pir Panjal mountains.

The Kharding Monastery, Tiayal Monastery and the Gurughantal Monastery are worth visiting.
